Overcome these things and WIN!

Overcome these things and WIN!
Emotions
To be emotional means to be determined or actuated by emotion rather than reason. Emotion is an integral part of our lives which plays many roles, both positive and negative.
I have read a lot of articles about emotional management and emotional intelligence, there seem to be some argument by some psychologists about if emotions should be labeled as ‘positive and negative’. Some school of thought argued that it should be labeled supportive and non-supportive emotions because there are times were those emotions that are labeled negative, like pessimism can be useful and in the same manner optimism might pose danger to someone in another instance. For example, people who gamble are so optimistic of winning and they never quite that habit, hoping to win someday, until he start to see in another light that the chances of winning are low (pessimistic).
Therefore in this article I will be using supportive and non-supportive emotions rather than positive or negative.
Non-supportive emotions are caused by our response to external stimuli; someone said something that resulted in you getting angry, you have seen so many people fail in a venture we start doubting if can succeed, people that you are better than have gotten what we are still striving to get and we become envious and jealous etc. These are all our responses to an event. What has happened, i.e. the event cannot produce a non-supportive emotions in us but it’s our response to an event that does.
 We can’t control what people’s actions will be but we can certainly control our reaction.
There is a law in physics that states “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”
In human beings this reactions are not predetermined like in other objects under the laws of physics, we can choose to react in any possible away positively or negatively.
Noon-supportive emotions can be dangerous to us in our quest of greatness, it might not hinder us from going up now, but it will certainly bring us down later. There are great men in the books of history that these noon-supportive emotions brought down. An example is the emotion of fear which tops the list of non-supportive emotions, this is very dangerous in the race of success and greatness because the law of attraction is a universal law that cannot be broken, you must know that we attract our faith and fears also whatever you focus on expands and increases.
“For the thing I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come upon me”- Job 3:25.
Unsupported emotions can create negative atmosphere, cause you to be unproductive, it can lead to imbalance in the human system which can lead to ill health and can result in the loss of relationship, job, sanity and reputation. All of these can defiantly not lead to unlocking the greatness that is in you.
You can learn to control your emotions by;
Choosing your response/reactions before you act or say anything
Talk about your turn offs with friend and colleagues so they might avoid it
Try to point out and deal with issues instantly as they arise, don’t keep them in your mind for too long.
Talk with someone (a friend) about how you feel and deal with the hidden noon-supportive emotions. A coach will be better so that you can be serious about it, unlike with a friend who might be biased in his/her judgment.
You are sure to be in the right path of greatness when you do these things and keep yourself committed to always choose your response to other people’s actions from today. I am solidly behind you in this journey of unlocking the greatness that is with you.
